Established and incorporated in 1976, the American Society of Orthopaedic Assistants (ASOA), formerly the American Society of Orthopaedic Physician's Assistants (ASOPA), is an organization for physician extenders who specialize in orthopaedic board-certified surgery. ASOA members are usually employed by a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon or by an orthopaedic facility.

ASOA is excited to be a supporter of the AAOS Project Playground Build during AAOS on Tuesday, March 24.

During the 2015 AAOS Meeting in Las Vegas, ASOA members will be out with hundreds of other volunteers that will include; orthopaedic surgeons, industry partners, additional orthopaedic-related organizations, state and specialty society representatives, the media, AAOS staff and community members.

AAOS sponsors the Safe, Accessible Playground building program, providing an opportunity to give back to the community and visibly support playground safety by helping with the construction of a safe and wheelchair-accessible play structure for the children. The playground will be built in one day on Tuesday, March 24, 2015.

If you are attending the AAOS meeting, review your schedule and plan to be a part of the AAOS Project Playground Build. You will be glad you did! Please contact Lori Pearson at by March 1 to volunteer or if you have any questions.
